Local Ingredients

We use the best local ingredients we can find on the North Fork whenever possible to prepare all the food we make at Ali Katz Kitchen. Locally grown food is full of flavor, picked at ripeness instead of harvested early for distribution. Buying local also helps the economy where we live. If we buy from local farms and producers, it helps their businesses grow, which in turn helps ours grow. One hand helps the other, and we all benefit. And because the transportation time is minimal, we leave less of a carbon footprint, which is good for the environment!

Small Batch Cooking

Small batch baking & cooking allows for greater attention to detail than foods produced on an industrial scale. Plus it gives us the chance to try out new things, which inspires our creativity and makes our daily work much more fun! And we think that translates into the shop, making it more exciting for us and our customers! Working in small batches is good for the environment too—there is so much food waste in our country, even when there are people who don't get enough of it. Small batches means we generate minimum waste which is good for our planet!

Housemade & Fresh Baked

Our goal is for everything to be as fresh as possible for our customers. We'd rather run out of one of our products than over-produce something that we don't need. That's why sometimes we may be out of something...we'd rather run out and make a new batch than have something sit and end up having to be discarded. We try our best to keep our popular items stocked so that we have them in the shop. But if there is something you need in particular, you can always call and order it ahead of time, we'd be happy to make it for you!
